Whatever is going to outlast you, spend your time on that.
You don’t know much about me. Let's fix that! Here are a few facts, opinions and perspectives - a peek into my brain.
1). I search for big meaning and purpose, even in the small things.
2). I read somewhere that resistance to something new is like a universal constant. This rings true to me. The minute between planning and taking action is the
difference between daydreamers and real dreamers.
3). I love animals, specifically all dogs. In three decades, I’ve had six dogs that were “mine”. My dog, Luna, has five other dog cousins just in our immediate family.
4). Being adopted is single handedly one of the biggest shaping factors of my life. After merely viewing a few baby photos, my parents instantly knew that I was “the
one.” As a baby, I made the international flight from Vietnam to DFW airport with a caretaker. There, my new parents and entire extended family waited to
welcome me. My parents and two older brothers arrived at the airport as a family of four, and left the airport as a forever family of five. Long story short, it took a
lot of effort. I’ve had verbal confirmation that I am my Dad’s favorite child. My family is the greatest evidence of God’s unending and unwavering love for me.
5). Matthew 11:28 says "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest." I can't help but consider how God grants us rest because He knows
our hearts so well. He hopes for us to have a soul that sits restfully rather than anxiously. We were created to live fully while cherishing the Lord's unwavering
ability to provide. I want to be a person who aligns my heart daily with the God of rest.
6). I will argue Shark Tank is one of the best TV shows to ever be created. I am constantly inspired.
7). I'm passionate about cooking and I could spend hours alone in my kitchen. My initial interest stems from my Dad who has spent his entire career in the
restaurant business. Plus, I have a Mom who cooks with more love in her food than anybody else I know. I'm forever inspired by Gordon Ramsay. Not only do I
respect his craft but watching him insult and yell at cooks is truly the gift that keeps on giving. Here is how to properly chop an onion.
8). Bob Goff, JP Pokluda and Ben Stuart are geniuses. They're incredible book authors and extremely gifted communicators. Check them out, I recommend them as
your next Google and YouTube search. I constantly find cool new things in their writings and videos. All three have impacted my life in a significant way.
9). Everyone in my immediate family has "J" or a “C” as the first letter in our first name. I don't know where it came from or why we do it.
10). Ben Rector is one of the BEST singers and songwriters of our generation, my long-time all time favorite artist.
11). I am so sentimental, and I feel the big feels. I'm very expressive, especially with people I trust.
12). Favorite words: grit, crisp, adoration, succinct, resolve, idiot and Karen.
